The ENS-10 dataset consists of 10 members, covering 20 years of weather simulation data from 1998 to 2017. These members perturb numerical weather simulations to capture the chaotic behavior of the Earth’s atmosphere. The dataset provides the most relevant atmospheric variables across 11 different pressure levels and the land surface, with a spatial resolution of 0.5 degrees, and includes data at forecast times T=0, 24 and 48 hours (two data points per week). This dataset aims to improve 48-hour forecast quality through ensemble post-processing, and provides benchmark tests and comparisons for calibrating forecasts of three critical atmospheric variables, as well as enhancing the accuracy of extreme weather event predictions.
