Replica scapula hoe (Catalog # 2002:226.166), a part of the Michigan State University Museum's Archaeology Teaching Collection. This tool, created by Toby Morrow, is composed of a bison scapula attached to a split-wood handle by strips of hide. In the past, chipped stone and scapula hoes were used in agriculture to break up and move soil for growing crops. Dimensions: approximately 102cm (L) x 38cm (W) x 19cm (H), weight= 1632.9g This 3D model was created by Jeff Painter using an Artec Space Spider and Artec Studio 14 Professional, in partnership with the MSU Digital Heritage Imaging and Innovation (DHI) Lab.
