This dataset contains biomass data for benthic macroalgae on the lagoon and creek bottoms of the Virginia Coast Reserve. Replicate samples were collected from locations in mainland creeks, mid-lagoon shoals and back-barrier sites. Gracilaria vermiculophylla (an invasive species) and Ulva sp. are the dominant species at all sites.
