We used RNAseq to study how two pea aphids biotype strains that live on Medicago sativa responded to crowding conditions. Pea aphids show phenotypic plasticity. In the pea aphid, asexual adults have a completely wingless morph and a fully winged morph. Asexual females produce winged offspring when the environment becomes crowding.
