Functional dissociation of behavioral effects from acetylcholine and glutamate released from the same striatal interneurons

2-10 month old male mice which have a selective deletion of VAChT and/or VGLUT3 from striatal cholinergic interneurons were assessed using fixed ratio, progressive ratio and heterogenous long sequence touchscreen tasks. They were also treated i.p. with haloperidol and assessed using the heterogenous sequence touchscreen task. Additionally, locomotion and dopamine dynamics were evaluated in these lines.
