Increasing intramuscular fat in cattle via FTO regulation

This study examines the role of the FTO gene in promoting adipogenic processes that contribute to intramuscular fat (IMF) development in cattle. By upregulating FTO expression, we observed a reduction in m6A modifications and an increase in adipogenesis-related genes, resulting in higher IMF levels. These findings suggest that targeting FTO regulation may be a promising strategy for enhancing meat quality in livestock production.
