Star Formation in the interacting galaxy pair NGC 1512 - NGC 1510

We propose to observe the pair of galaxies NGC 1512/1510 for a total exposuretime of 60 ks. The observation of NGC 1512/1510 will allow us to gaininformation on Xray Binaries (XRBs) born in the outer arms of NGC 1512, anenvironment with atypical densities and chemical abundances, that is likely toaffect the evolution of XRBs. This observation is also r^ant to theimprovement of our knowledge on the properties of rejuvenated ellipticalgalaxies, such as NGC 1510, in which we expect to observe a population of youngXRBs formed after the recent accretion of material from NGC 1512, superimposedon an older population of LowMass Xray Binaries (LMXBs). truncated!, Please see actual data for full text [truncated!, Please see actual data for full text]
