Belgium: global portfolio investment assets 2017-2020

The total portfolio investment assets from Belgian residents to the rest of the world from the first quarter of 2017 to the third quarter of 2020 (in billion euros) fluctuated over time, generally rising. In the second quarter of 2019, Belgian residents had approximately 701 billion euros worth in portfolio investment assets to non-residents. In the third quarter of 2020, this number had reached 754 billion euros. During that time, the total assets from Belgian residents to the rest of the world amounted to around 2044 billion euros.
