Genotyping of founders and Recombinant Inbred Lines (RILs) of an eight-way Multi-parent Advanced Generation Inter-Cross (MAGIC) maize (Zea mays L.) population. The making and the genetic properties of this population are described by Dell'Acqua and colleagues (2015, 10.1186/s13059-015-0716-z), while the design of the probes used for genotyping using Single Primer Enrichment Technology is described by Scaglione and colleagues (2019, 10.1093/aob/mcz054). In brief, this population was developed by crossing eight inbred lines: A632, B73, B96, F7, H99, HP301, Mo17 and W153R following an half-diallelic breeding scheme. A ninth line (CML91) was introduced into the design as a two-way hybrid (B73xCML91) to compensate for failures of B96xHP301. The generation of this data was funded by the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme, within the project CAPITALISE, under grant agreement No. 862201.
