In 2023, the total number of internal migrants in South Korea amounted to around 6.13 million, with around 20 thousand fewer people moving within the country compared to the previous year. The highest number of internal migrants in the past five decades was recorded in 1988, amounting to 9.97 million. Overall, there has been a steady decline in the number of internal migrants since 2006.
