This BioProject includes the reference genomes generated by the Spanish chapter of the European Reference Genome Atlas.. ERGA-ES: generating reference genomes for Spanish biodiversity

The European Reference Genome Atlas (ERGA) initiative is a pan-European scientific response to the current threat to biodiversity. Science needs genomes to understand biodiversity, and biodiversity needs to be understood at the genomic level to be protected. This project aims at sequencing high quality genomes for all European species. From species selection to data analysis, the process of creating reference genomes for the entire biodiversity involves a deep synergy between museums, research institutes, universities, sequencing centers, bioinformatics and computational biology groups. Citizens also play an important role supporting the inclusion of all types of species.The genomes included in this BioProject have been generated by the Spanish chapter of the European Reference Genome Atlas.
