Dataset for the crust and mantle gravity disturbances and their implications

The mantle gravity anomalies reflect density perturbations of the mantle, which provides valuable constraints on the physical state and dynamics of the lithosphere and sub-lithospheric mantle. However, the gravitational signals of the crust layers mask the signals of the underlying mantle. In this study, we develop two different frameworks in the spatial domain for the forward calculation of the gravity anomalies generated by the layered crust. Subsequently, we apply the proposed approaches to evaluate the global mantle gravity disturbances based on the recent sedimentary and Moho depth models.
