Prevalence and Patterns of Family History in Hidradenitis Suppurativa: A Systematic Review and Meta-analysis

Hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) has a strong genetic underpinning. However, reported prevalence of HS family history ranges widely across populations, and it remains unclear whether this heterogeneity reflects true population-level differences or methodological variation. Defining the prevalence and patterns of HS family history can help identify genetically enriched subgroups and guide genetic risk stratification in HS. This systematic review and meta-analysis aims to quantify the prevalence of HS family history worldwide and its variation by degree of relatives, region, sex, age at disease onset, and disease severity.
