Viral Enriched DNA and RNA and RNAseq Sequencing of Postmortem Brain Tissue from Parkinson's Disease and Control Cases

This project includes DNA/RNA and RNAseq sequencing data from fresh-frozen postmortem brain tissue of individuals with Parkinson's disease (PD) and non-PD controls. Tissue was collected from three brain regions - amygdala (AMG), superior frontal cortex (SFC), and posterior putamen (PPUT). Mixed DNA/RNA libraries were enriched for viral sequences using Agilent SureSelect target enrichment, while additional libraries consist of poly(A)-selected bulk RNAseq. All data were sequenced as 150 bp paired-end reads on Illumina MiSeq or NovaSeq platforms. These data support studies of neurodegeneration, regional transcriptomic variation, and potential viral contributions to PD pathogenesis.
