Daily-mean satellite altimetry measurements from the Gulf of Mexico region, 1993-01-01 to 2017-05-17

This dataset contains gridded sea level anomaly data and surface geostrophic current components from 1993-01-01 to 2017-05-17. Daily means of sea surface height, zonal velocity U, and meridional velocity V are gridded at 0.25 x 0.25-degree resolution. The data were sub-setted from the multi-mission gridded data hosted at Copernicus Marine and Environment Monitoring Service (CMEMS, formerly distributed by Aviso). The surface currents can be compared with subsurface currents from mooring observations, available in companion dataset under GRIIDC Unique Dataset Identifier (UDI) R6x.820.000:0001 (DOI: 10.7266/n7-7g3d-9q79).
