Raw data, photographs and R scripts for the study of socio-ecological seed exchange networks in quilombola communities, Brazil

This repository contains the raw data, photographs, and R scripts used in the study “Socio-agronomic features define the structure of socio-ecological seed exchange networks”. Data were collected through ethnographic and ethnobotanical fieldwork conducted in five quilombola communities located in the rural area of Mariana, Minas Gerais, Brazil. The dataset includes raw interview data, information on seed varieties and crops exchanged, socio-agronomic attributes of participants, and relational data used to construct socio-ecological seed exchange networks. Photographic records document seeds, crops, and fieldwork contexts, supporting qualitative interpretation and transparency of the research process. The R scripts provided reproduce the analytical workflow applied in the associated article, including data organization, network construction, calculation of network metrics, and statistical analyses. This dataset is published to ensure transparency, reproducibility, and reuse of ethnobiological data related to agrobiodiversity conservation and traditional seed exchange systems.
