Bisexual flowers emerged in leaf axils of main stem after ethephon treatment. Genes related to plant hormones were significantly upregulated in LA and Eth. In ethylene signaling pathway, CmERF1 showed the most significant difference. CmERF1 expressed higher in bisexual buds than that in male buds. CmERF1 bound to the promoter of putative target genes to initiate bisexual buds.
