To understand the effect of sugar concentration on behaviour of nectarivorous birds at sugar water feeders <i></i>we recruited 17 volunteer gardens with no previous feeding history in Auckland, New Zealand. We installed Tui Nectar Feeders™ in each garden and randomly assigned either 10 or 20% sugar concentration to each garden. In winter 2020, twelve gardens attracted birds to feeders and there we conducted a series of direct behavioural observations. This dataset is the summary of all the records of observed sugar water feeder-associated bird behaviour in experimental gardens.
