NOAA 1/4° Daily Optimum Interpolation Sea Surface Temperature (OISST) is a long-term climate data record that integrates observations from various platforms (satellites, ships, buoys, and Argo floats) into a regular global grid. This dataset is interpolated to fill grid gaps and create a spatially complete sea surface temperature map. Satellite and ship observations are calibrated against buoys to compensate for platform discrepancies and sensor biases.
