资源简介:
Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is a serious global public health threat and is a particular concern among care homes for older people. Different studies have indicated high rates of resistance among urine isolates from care home residents, and have identified resident demographic and clinical factors associated with AMR. There are limited studies that have looked at genomic surveillance to identify MDR isolates in care homes and their linkage with health care data. Now there is a shift toward understanding the underlying causes of bacterial resistant risk factors in care homes, which contributes to this problem. Importantly, the prospective care home study examines resident demographic and clinical factors alongside bacterial genomic factors associated with AMR in Tayside care homes, and investigates potential bacterial transmission in care homes using routine demographic and healthcare data linked to bacterial genomic data.
