资源简介:

Stroke may impact a survivor’s ability to participate in social groups, spirituality, travel and employment. Despite the availability of therapy to address this issue, there is evidence that these participation needs of stroke survivors are not being met. This research sought to determine why. After interviewing 14 stroke survivors and 16 allied health workers, multiple issues affecting the delivery of therapy were identified. Recommendations to minimise these barriers include specific continuing professional development opportunities for workers, advocacy and research. Implementing these strategies may improve the delivery of therapy, and the community participation and quality of life of stroke survivors.
