Database of results from Cirad research projects on stickiness of cotton fibers and from the ITMF-ICCTM round-tests participating laboratories

The database has been created to compile all available data about cottons that have been used in several projects over time with cotton fiber stickiness as a main topic. This includes results from Cirad researches as well as from inter-laboratory trial called round-tests (RT) that were performed over the years with a goal of harmonizing results between instruments as well as between existing characterization methods. These RT were first created for the methods Cirad created (SCT and H2SD) before including RT results organized in partnership with the ITMF-ICCTM committee on stickiness measuring methods. The dataset also aggregates all available results grabbed on some common materials and using various characterization techniques including micro-spinning and industrial spinning. These records concerned both quality and productivity data. The main research idea behind this database is to check the relationship of any stickiness measurement result to what spinning experiments data showed in practice in the spinning process that is to be taken as reference, what has been named ‘Stickiness In Practice’ (SIP) since a presentation in Bremen 2021.
