Obesity in cardiac surgery patients

We report on the application of RNA sequencing to study expression changes in cardiac surgery patients of different obesity categories. Patients attending surgery were recruited as part of a clinical trial. Total RNA was obtained from myocardial tissue (specifically atrial biopsies), sequenced and analyzed.
