Effects of dietary lycopene supplementation on cecal microbiota of North China native chickens

This project aims to investigate the effects of dietary lycopene supplementation on the cecal microbial community of North China native chickens. Cecal content samples were collected from chickens fed diets supplemented with different levels of lycopene. Microbial community composition was characterized using high-throughput sequencing of the bacterial 16S rRNA gene. The data generated in this project provide a resource for understanding the potential role of dietary lycopene in modulating gut microbiota in poultry.
