In this study, we explore the effect of sluggish post-garnet transition on slab behavior at the uppermost lower mantle through geodynamic modeling. We found the sluggish post-garnet transition could trigger slab stagantion at ~1000-km depth in the lower mantle. Our results highlight the role of phase transformation kinetics on slab behavior in the lower mantle. The data files published here are resutls of reference models shown in Figure 2 of the main text.
