The size of the construction industry as a share of the gross domestic product (GDP) in Germany was higher in 2023 than a year earlier. In 2006, the construction sector amounted to 3.9 percent of its GDP, showing that it was less important to the German economy. France and Germany were among the European countries with the highest construction revenue in 2022.
