资源简介:
This is a companion dataset to the paper Environmental aspects of wastewater recycling from the point of view of emergent pollutant removal by Michal Šereš, Tereza Černá, Tereza Hnátková, Miloš Rozkošný, Alena Grasserová, Jaroslav Semerád, Kateřina Němcová and Tomáš Cajthaml, to be submitted to Water Science and Technology (doi: 10.2166/wst.2025.042).This study investigates the efficiency of two full-scale constructed wetlands—one hybrid system (CW A) and one horizontal system (CW B)—in removing endocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDCs), particularly estrogenic compounds, from wastewater. Using a combination of liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry and yeast assays, the research evaluates the removal rates of 15 selected EDCs. The results demonstrate that the hybrid CW A, which incorporates vertical and horizontal filtration, achieves a significantly higher removal efficiency (94% for individual compounds and 83% for estimated estrogenic activity) compared to the horizontal CW B (60% and 52%, respectively). The findings suggest that the vertical components in hybrid constructed wetlands enhance EDC degradation due to increased aerobic conditions, making them more effective as secondary or tertiary wastewater treatment solutions. The dataset contains the following parts:cTWA.csv time-weighted average concentration of EDCs in ng/lCW Performance.csv concentrations and removal efficiencies of the monitored performance parameters of CW A and B in mg/l or %ED_POCIS.csv concentrations of EDCs extracted from POCIS samplers in ng/g of sorbentED_Solid samples.csv concentration of EDCs extracted from solid samples in ng/gMass loading.csv mass loading of EDCs across all treatment stages in ng/m2.d-1Mass removal.csv mass removal per treatment stage in ng/m2.d-1Removal efficiency.csv removal efficiency per treatment stage in %
