Hindi accounted for the highest news viewership in India with viewers spending approximately 49 billion weekly viewing minutes on Hindi news channels in 2020. Comparatively, English and Urdu news channels accounted for the smallest portion of news viewership that year with each amounting to less than a billion weekly viewing minutes, respectively.
