资源简介:
This dataset supports the study by providing data for validation of the integrated geospatial framework used to assess multi-pathway water contamination risks in the Kiteezi landfill catchment, Kampala. It combines groundwater vulnerability (DRASTIC) and surface water susceptibility (SWSI) analyses to evaluate spatial patterns of contamination. Groundwater vulnerability was modeled using hydrogeological parameters, while surface water susceptibility incorporated terrain, land use, soil characteristics, and drainage proximity. The resulting indices were validated against measured electrical conductivity (EC) and nitrate (NO₃⁻) concentrations, demonstrating good agreement with observed water quality. The dataset reveals significant spatial heterogeneity and identifies the southern sector as a critical hotspot where both infiltration and runoff processes enhance contaminant transport, thereby supporting targeted mitigation and evidence-based water resource management. Validation demonstrates strong correspondence with observed water quality (R² = 0.83 for EC and 0.56 for NO₃⁻ in DRASTIC; R² = 0.62 for EC and 0.66 for NO₃⁻ in SWSI).
