Gut microbiota profiling in healthy individuals and clear cell renal cell carcinoma patients

This project investigates the alterations in gut microbiota associated with clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC). Fecal samples from 107 participants, including healthy volunteers (HV) and ccRCC patients, were analyzed using 16S rRNA gene sequencing. In addition, we performed fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT) into germ-free or antibiotic-treated mice to evaluate the microbiota-mediated effects on tumor progression. Furthermore, a subset of mice received oral gavage with Lachnospiraceae bacterium, a taxon found to be depleted in ccRCC patients, to assess its impact on microbial composition and downstream host effects. These multi-source 16S datasets provide insights into the microbiota-tumor axis and offer a valuable resource for translational research on microbial interventions in renal cancer.
