Establishment of teleradiology institute in Alta municipality - financial consequences

This project has had the following problem statement: Can the introduction of teleradiology in the municipal health service lead to reduced costs for society? By using teleradiology, patients can in many cases avoid traveling to hospital for an X-ray examination. The X-rays can be taken locally, digitized and transferred to a hospital for examination via normal telephone lines. The research sheds light on whether capital- and operating costs linked to such activities are offset by reduced costs for travel and lost production.
