Mercury in soft tissues of Northern quahogs (Mercenaria mercenaria) from Long Island Sound

This data describes mercury (Hg), including the sum of all its chemical forms, i.e., total Hg (THg) and monomethylmercury (MeHg) in soft tissues of northern quahogs (Mercenaria mercenaria) that were collected from Long Island Sound. One of the files contains data for combined concentrations of THg and MeHg in all soft tissues, along with animal size metrics such as shell heights and dry biomass. The other file contains data for Hg forms separated into inorganic Hg (iHg), MeHg, and as THg, for dissected soft tissues such as the adductor muscle, foot, mantle, and viscera. - Animals used for this study were collected in 2018. All the data was used in a manuscript submitted to Environmental Pollution. The methods used to collect, process, and analyze these samples for Hg are described in that manuscript.
