This dataset contains field measurements of carbon dioxide (CO₂) and methane (CH₄) fluxes from riparian vegetation and open-water surfaces of two urban stormwater ponds (Activa – residential catchment; Wabanaki – industrial catchment) in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada. The dataset includes bi-weekly chamber-based flux measurements collected between September 2023 and November 2024 (ice-free seasons for open water; December 2023–November 2024 for vegetation). Vegetation data include net ecosystem exchange (NEE), ecosystem respiration (ER), gross primary production (GPP; derived), corrected CO₂ and CH₄ fluxes (mmol m⁻² d⁻¹), collar identifiers, chamber type (clear/dark), vegetation volume corrections, and meteorological parameters (air temperature, photosynthetically active radiation). Open-water data include diffusive and ebullitive CH₄ fluxes, diffusive CO₂ fluxes, total CH₄ fluxes (mmol m⁻² d⁻¹), dissolved gas concentrations (µmol L⁻¹), water temperature, dissolved oxygen, conductivity, pH, dissolved organic carbon (DOC), dissolved inorganic carbon (DIC), and sampling location metadata (forebay and main basin). The dataset supports analysis of greenhouse gas dynamics, spatial variability, and land-use effects in urban stormwater pond systems.
