The Advanced Dental Technicians Qualifications Board was constituted under Part 2 of the Dental Technicians Act 1972 (the Act came into operation on 1/12/1974). It was responsible for supervising the conduct and practice of dental mechanics by advanced dental technicians. The Board consisted of seven members, each from a different professional body. The final meeting of the Board was held on 28/06/2000. The Dental Practice Act 1999 provided for a single regulatory body, the Dental Practice Board of Victoria, to replace the existing Dental Board, Advanced Dental Technicians Qualifications Board and Dental Technicians Licencing Committee.The Board was responsible for creating and maintaining a register of licensed advanced dental technicians, the Advanced Dental Technicians Register, containing the full name of every licensed advanced dental technician, their residential address and the address of their place of work.
