The work in the potato ontology focused on documenting standard morphological descriptors from the FAO/IPGRI list, also a first version of the variables based on CIP’s data dictionaries and protocols of traits used in the breeding programs https://research.cip.cgiar.org/potatoknowledge/ The potato ontology includes 110 traits: 40 correspond to the FAO/IPGRI/CIP descriptor list and 70 correspond to the evaluating traits from CIP’s breeding program.
