16S rRNA sequencing of adult cystic fibrosis airway microbiota

We performed a prospective longitudinal study of adults attending a CF-focused otolaryngology clinic at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (Pittsburgh, PA) following an IRB-approved protocol (STUDY19100149). All participants provided informed consent upon enrollment into the study. The aim of this study was to determine the effects of acute respiratory viral infection on the airway microbiota of adults with cystic fibrosis.
