Replication data and code for "Heat at the margins: Population-weighted extreme heat exposure and the uneven geography of energy deprivation, 2000–2023"

This repository contains the processed analysis-ready data, replication code, metadata, tables and figure outputs for the article “Heat at the margins: Population-weighted extreme heat exposure and the uneven geography of energy deprivation, 2000–2023”. The study combines World Bank / SE4ALL energy access indicators, NASA POWER daily maximum temperature data, GHSL GHS-POP population grids, ND-GAIN indicators and World Development Indicators to examine the association between population-weighted extreme heat exposure and access-based energy inequality in a country-year panel from 2000 to 2023. The package includes processed country-year datasets, code used to construct population-weighted heat exposure and estimate the main and robustness models, generated tables, figures and metadata. Raw third-party data are not redistributed in full; source inventories and download instructions are provided.
