This deliverable summarises the work conducted in T7.4 on optimisation, scale-up and validation of the aeronautic application at system level via simulation. It is based on the aeronautic module, which was developed and prototyped in T7.2, and tested in T7.3. First, the virtual design scale-up activities from module to system level are summarised. The cooling design is analysed by simulation, and potential improvements are lined out. Furthermore, the structural design concept is justified by design and stress analysis. The safety of the developed battery pack regarding thermal runaway and propagation resilience is evaluated by means of simulation and design implications are emphasised. Finally, the design optimization potential based on the decision tool developed in WP5 is assessed. Deviating from the originally planned work structure of this task, the decision tool was not used to define the battery system. A comparison is provided between expectations of the tool and its actual performance.
