Auxotrophies in microorganisms form complex interconnected metabolic webs and result in the difficulty of purely cultivating most microorganisms. The widely spread interactions between cobamides auxotrophies and producers make cobamides became model nutrients for studying microbial interactions. In the present study, we utilized the traditional culture-based method and advanced metagenomic sequencing technology to estimate the co-existence of the cultured colony, and inquiry the genomic basis of cobamides sharing.
