Wastewater surveillance may represent a complementary approach in detecting SARS-CoV-2. The virus research in effluents will be done by metagenomic approach, initially quantified by RT-qPCR and confirmed by MiSeq/Illumina sequencing. Data interpreted by comparative analysis in databases and phylogenetic analyses. Our results may reveal the genetic diversity and prevalence of SARS-CoV-2 in Brazilian effluents.
