Multi Dipole Model for Lunar Descartes Magnetic Anomaly

This dataset contains the multi-dipole magnetic source model developed to investigate the Descartes lunar magnetic anomaly. The model consists of 1,000 magnetic dipoles representing the spatial distribution and magnetization of the proposed magnetic source materials near the Descartes crater. For each dipole, the dataset provides six parameters: latitude, longitude, depth, inclination, declination, and magnetic moment. These parameters define the spatial location and magnetic properties of each dipole and can be used to reproduce the modeled magnetic field over the Descartes magnetic anomaly. This model was developed as part of the study, “A thin magnetized layer at the surface of the lunar Descartes crater”.
