This dataverse includes the Online Appendix and Replication Data Set (as a Stata dta file) for Winer, Stanley L., J. Stephen Ferris, Bharatee Bhusana Dash and Pinaki Chakraborty: Political Competitiveness and the Private-Public Structure of Public Expenditure: A model and empirics for the Indian States. Do files that generate the estimation results in the paper are also provided along with a copy of the (pre-publication) main text. The Online Appendix includes a primer on Indian public finance accounting practices and details of the construction of panel data measures of targetable private good expenditure by the Indian states, along with ancillary statistics and estimation results referred to in the main text.
