A Prospective Observational Study to Elucidate the Mechanism of Gastrointestinal Mucosal Damage and Thrombosis in Patients with COVID-19

Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) is still endemic in the world. COVID-19 is known to cause thrombosis and gastrointestinal disorders. We aim to elucidate the mechanisms of thrombus formation and gastrointestinal mucosal damage in COVID-19 by analyzing the fecal microbiome, metabolomics, and blood inflammatory and thrombogenic substances in COVID-19 patients. The goal of this study is to identify the gut microbiota and gut metabolites associated with COVID-19 severity and to identify the involvement of thrombus formation and intestinal damage.
