The main objective of this pilot study was to assess the tolerance and the effectiveness of two adhesive biofilms (one containing prebiotics, one sodium alginate) in patients with pSS and hyposialia. Secondary objectives were to obtain initial efficacy data regarding the clinical effectiveness of such biofilms on the improvement of signs and symptoms related to dry mouth and potential modifications of oral microbiota.
