These are the registers in which the Commission recorded details of the numerous contracts which were negotiated for the construction of the City Railway, particularly the railway stations. The volumes record the following information: contract, name of contractor, date tender accepted, authority, schedule or lump sum, plans, time of completion, penalty, maintenance, security deposit and progress payments. Specification number is usually recorded.Generally the entries are recorded by specification number, with an index in the rear of each volume detailing the locations and specifications involved.The 'authority' consists the reference number of the Commissioners letter.
