Freshwater fish records at The University of the South Pacific

<p>Freshwater biodiversity in the Oceania region is not well studied and underreported. The preserved specimens of freshwater fish at The University of the South Pacific (Suva, Fiji) are documented in this dataset and is a work in progress. No coordinates have been included as the sites need to be georeferenced. This is a long term goal.</p>
<p>The records in this dataset were mobilised from a catalouge prepared by Lekima Copeland, one of the few freshwater ichthyologist&#39;s from Fiji. Data mobilisation and publication followed the guidelines provided by GBIF. Taxonomic names were verified using the OpenRefine script developed by SIB-Colombia for Taxonomic Validation with WORMS&#39;s API, available on GitHub.</p>

大洋洲地区的淡水生物多样性研究尚不充分，报道亦显不足。本数据集收录了南太平洋大学（斐济苏瓦）所保存的淡水鱼类标本，目前仍处于持续工作中。由于现场需要地理参照，故未包含坐标信息，此为长期目标。本数据集中记录的数据来源于莱基玛·科普兰所编制的目录，她是斐济为数不多的淡水鱼类学家之一。数据动员和发布遵循了GBIF提供的指南。物种名称的验证采用了SIB-Colombia开发的OpenRefine脚本，通过WORMS的API进行分类学验证，相关代码可在GitHub上找到。
