The NoPest project has produced several publicly disseminated deliverables related to various research aspects: 1. Target Identification and Characterization o A list of candidate cell wall target enzymes has been identified o A comprehensive map of cell wall metabolism in selected oomycetes has been developed. o Biochemical and functional properties of selected cell wall enzymes have been analyzed. 2. Cultivation and Structural Analysis o Development of an in vitro culture method for Plasmopara viticola, a biotrophic pathogen, to facilitate experimental analysis. o Comparative study of cell wall structures in obligate and non-obligate oomycetes to assess the effects of antimicrobial molecules. 3. Chemical and Pharmacological Studies o Protocols for synthesizing fluorinated amino acids and incorporating non-proteinogenic amino acids into peptides. o Development of a pharmacophore model for virtual screening of compound libraries. o QSAR models for predicting the activity of non-peptidic compounds. 4. Testing and Evaluation o Assessment of high-throughput phenotyping tools at the laboratory level. o Report on mapping and Variable Rate Application (VRA) of new pesticides in crops, based on trials in Spain. o Protocols for in vitro antimicrobial activity assays of aptamers with and without Cell-Penetrating Peptides (CPPs). o Cost-benefit analysis of new pesticides for the EU agri-food industry. 5. Project Coordination and Dissemination o A schedule of conference calls, project meetings, and their locations. o Establishment of the NoPest website, including a protected workspace and a searchable database. o A schedule of exhibition events for stakeholders and farmers. o A schedule of events aimed at the general public. 6. Data Management and Sharing o The project has generated electronic files and datasets, including:  Lists of candidate target proteins, peptide aptamers, and non-peptide molecules.  Sequence data of genes, proteins, and peptides.  Protocols for oomycete cultivation and aptamer bioactivity assays.  Validation data of non-invasive sensing technologies under lab and field conditions.  Formulations of the three most promising molecules for in vivo testing.  Cost-benefit analysis data of NoPest technology.
