Carbon dioxide (pCO2) measured in air and in water with a ProOceanus Pro-CO2-atmos sensor deployed on the PAP1 buoy at the Porcupine Abyssal Plain Sustained Observatory during RRS James Cook cruise JC263 between 31st May 2024 and 24th November 2024

This dataset consists of in air and in water CO2 measurements collected using a ProOceanus CO2-Pro Atmosphere pCO2 sensor deployed on the PAP1 buoy at the Porcupine Abyssal Plain Sustained Observatory (PAP-SO) site in the North East Atlantic (49N 16.5W). In air data were collected at a nominal height of 5m above water and in water data were collected at a nominal depth of 1m. Measurements were made at a 12-hourly resolution from 31st May 2024 until 24th Nov 2024. The sensor was deployed during RRS James Cook cruise JC263 by scientists from the National Oceanography Centre Southampton as part of NERC National Capability programme AtlantiS. The buoy broke free from the PAP site in November 2024 and sensor data was recovered after the buoy was located in Ireland.
