This project represents 2,590 sequences of Danish Shiga toxin-producing E. coli (STEC) during the years 2014 to February of 2024. The strains were submitted from the local, regional hospitals' clinical microbiology departments for whole genome sequencing (WGS) and used to determine their sero-and virulence profiles together with their MLST type. The purpose was to detect clusters and possible outbreaks and the association with severe disease.
