资源简介:
Hand dominance decides the involvement of extremities during activities of daily living therefore each side of the body undergoes different amounts of stress and load which leads to varying degenerative changes. When diagnosing musculoskeletal problems and tracking prognosis, range of motion (ROM) assessments are frequently used. Therefore, ROM is a helpful clinical indicator of tailored treatment plans. Current rehabilitation literature suggests to goal for equal ROM at the effected joint as contralateral side which may differs greatly based on the dominance of the extremity. The aim of the project is finding the average readings for cervical range of motion (CROM) for lateral flexion in left and right-hand dominant population respectively. Demographic details of 308 participants of both genders (age 18-28 years) were documented which were divided into two groups based on their hand dominance i.e. left and right, subjects were informed about the procedure after which the ranges for cervical lateral flexion on both sides were recorded in degrees using a single inclinometer method. The normative reference value of left cervical lateral flexion (LCLF) & right cervical lateral flexion (RCLF) of participants with right hand dominance which is stated in Mean ± SD. The LCLF & RCLF’s-mean and ranges are expressed to be 42.272 (26.00-62.00) & 47.344 (31.00-71.00) degrees respectively. To get the precise evaluation, the geometric mean (95%CI) was employed, which is as follows: 41.616 (41.088-43.457) & 46.641 (46.045-48.642). The normative reference value of LCLF & RCLF of participants with left hand dominance which is stated in Median (IQR). The LCLF & RCLF median and ranges are expressed to be 51.00 (32.00-70.00) & 47.00 (32.00-69.00) degrees respectively. To get the precise evaluation, the geometric mean (95%CI) was employed, which is as follows: 49.787 (49.175-51.421) & 47.866 (47.225-49.605). The research was effective in determining the normative reference value of cervical lateral flexion in subjects aged 18 to 28 with respect to hand dominance.
